Terms & Conditions – Kijani Beach Villas

Welcome to Kijani Beach Villas. By booking with us, accessing our website, or using our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.
 

1. General

  • Kijani Beach Villas (hereinafter the “hotel”, “we”, “our”, “us”) operates  in compliance with applicable local, EU, US, and international laws.

  • Kijani Beach Villas is operated by the company Kijani Investments Ltd,  PO BOX 3472, Bwejuu, Zanzibar, holding registration number L86302018.

  • These Terms & Conditions (hereinafter the “Terms”) apply to all customers,  guests, visitors, and users of our website (https://www.kijanibeach.com), our accommodations and our services.

  • All customers, prospective customers and all the website’s visitors (hereinafter the “clients”, “guests”) confirm that they have full legal capacity to commit to the Terms.

  • By making a reservation or using our services, you accept these Terms in full.

  • Guests are solely responsible for the accuracy of the data and personal information that they provide while using our services.
     

2. Reservations, Bookings, and Payment Terms

  • Reservations can be made via our website, email, or authorized travel partners.

  • Your reservation will become binding once it has been confirmed by Kijani Beach Villas.  The confirmation of your reservation, as well as your unique confirmation number, will generally be provided in writing, through email.

  • Guests must be aged 18 years or over to make a booking with us and they must be aged 18 years or over to stay alone in one of our hotel rooms. If a person who is over 18 years of age (“adult”) shares the room with a person under 18 years of age (“minor”), the adult assumes complete liability for the minor’s use of the hotel room, use of the hotel facilities and our services in general.

  • All reservations require a valid payment method.
     

2.1 Booking Confirmation & Payment Terms

  • A booking is only confirmed once the required 50% deposit has been successfully processed, and a confirmation email has been sent.

  • The remaining balance must be paid no later than 30 days before arrival.

  • Payments can be made by credit/debit card, bank transfer, or approved online payment platforms. Any credit cards submitted online are not stored or processed by this website.

  • For certain rates and promotions a full prepayment may be required.

  • Exchange rates and/or transaction fees may apply.
     

2.2 Zanzibar tourist tax and mandatory travel insurance

  • The Zanzibar tourist tax (hereinafter “Infrastructure tax”) currently amounts $4 per person per night and is to be collected by the hotel.

  • The Infrastructure tax is invoiced separately according to the occupation (number of persons) and the length of the stay (number of nights).

  • Kijani Beach Villas will never include the infrastructure tax in the room rates.

  • Starting from October 1, 2024, mandatory travel insurance has been introduced in Zanzibar. The insurance can be obtained through the official website (https://visitzanzibar.go.tz), or upon arrival at the airport.
     

3. Cancellation & Refund Policy
 

3.1. Definitions

  • “High Season” refers to the period from 14th of December to 14th of January, and from 1st of July to 31st of August each calendar year.

  • “Low & Mid Season” refers to all dates outside the High Season period.
     

3.2. Standard Cancellation Terms


High Season

  • Guests may cancel a reservation up to 31 days prior to the scheduled arrival date.  

  • Cancellations made 30 days or fewer prior to arrival, will incur a cancellation charge equal to 100% of the total booking value.
     

Low & Mid Season

  • Guests may cancel a reservation up to 15 days prior to the scheduled arrival date.

  • Cancellations made 14 days or fewer prior to arrival will incur a cancellation charge equal to 100% of the total booking value.
     

3.3. Refund Policy

  • Deposit payments made to secure a reservation are refundable should the booking be cancelled within the allowable cancellation period. However, all refunds will be processed net of any bank charges, transfer fees, currency conversion costs, or other applicable transaction fees incurred during the payment or refund process. These charges will be deducted from the refundable deposit amount. The hotel is not responsible for any additional fees charged by the guest’s own bank or payment provider.


3.4. Non-Refundable / Special Rates

  • Certain promotional, discounted, or otherwise specially designated rates are non-refundable.

  • Guests are responsible for reviewing the rate-specific rules presented at the time of booking.

  • For non-refundable rates, the full amount of the booking is payable and will be retained in the event of cancellation.
     

3.5. No-Show Policy

  • Failure to check in on the scheduled arrival date without prior notification to the property will constitute a no-show.

  • No-shows will be charged 100% of the total booking value, and any associated reservation will be considered cancelled.
     

4. Check-in & Check-out

  • Check-in time: 2:00 PM or as specified at booking.

  • Check-out time: 11:00 AM or as specified at booking.

  • Early check-in or late check-out may incur additional fees and are subject to availability.
     

5. Guest Responsibilities

  • Guests must comply with local laws, hotel rules, and safety regulations.

  • Guests are responsible for the behavior of accompanying persons.

  • Damage to property or theft may result in charges or legal action.

  • Pets are not allowed under any circumstances.
     

6. Liability & Insurance

  • We are not responsible for loss, damage, or theft of personal items, except where required by law.

  • Guests are advised to have travel insurance covering health, personal property, and cancellation.

  • We are not liable for interruptions caused by natural disasters, strikes, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.
     

7. Data Collection & Use

  • Personal data provided by guests during the booking process, or through the use of our website will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy

  • By making a reservation or using our services, guests acknowledge and agree to the terms of our Privacy Policy.

  • Personal data may be shared with third-party service providers involved in the booking and payment process, including HotelOnline, PesaPal, and online travel platforms such as Expedia, Booking.com, and Airbnb, each of which operates under its own privacy policies.

  • Data required for legal, financial, and accounting purposes will be retained for 7 years, as mandated by applicable laws and regulations.
     

8. Website Use

  • Users may not misuse the website or attempt unauthorized access.

  • All intellectual property, including logos, images, and content, remains the property of Kijani Investments Ltd, trading as Kijani Beach Villas.
     

9. Cookies & Analytics

  • Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to enhance user experience, track website usage, and deliver personalized ads (including Meta platforms).

  • By using the website or accepting cookies, users consent to our Privacy & Cookie Policy
     

10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of The United Republic of Tanzania..

  • Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of The United Republic of Tanzania.

  • International guests may have additional rights under local consumer protection laws.
     

11. Changes to Terms

  • We may update these Terms & Conditions at any time.

  • Updated Terms will be posted on the website, with the “Last Updated” date revised.

  • Guests are encouraged to review the Terms periodically.
